From Feb. 9 to Feb.16, IVT’s delegation of six key teachers from Electronics, IT, Mechatronics and Foreign Languages departments and two students from IT and Mechatronics were invited to visit International University College Leuven (Group-T) of Belgium.

The delegation communicated and discussed with the dean of Group-T Engineering College, the deans of Electronics Department and Electromechanic Department and the Co-ordinator English Program about course development and teaching management. The delegation also attended some classes such as “Technology and Strength of Materials”, “Introduction in Management”, “Coaching Session” and “Lab Session”. The delegation were impressed deeply at the Pattern of Engineering Education in Group-T. The management system of “Easy In, Difficult Out”, the emphasis of student’s engineering experience acquirement and the ability of student’s self-study also left a deep impression on the delegation.

After coming back, the teachers share their experience with their colleagues. Group- T and IVT have very similar ideas in many aspects of running school. IVT can learn a lot from Group- T such as flexible management, carrying out “learning by doing”. They think the teaching innovations based on CDIO and Engineering experience acquirement should be accelerated ASAP in IVT. The two students say: “The initiative and creativeness of Group-T’s students leave a very deep impression on us. The class study is also interesting and challenging in Group-T. And we are eager to enjoy our own new class study.”
