From 16^th to 21^st August, 23 faculty staffs of IVT led by Mr. Luwei, the deputy director of Mechatronics Engineering Department, together with 3 teachers from Baoying Vocational Education Center, paid a seven-day visit to Singapore.

The prime purpose of tour was to visit Singapore Nanyang Polytechnic and the inspection group was warmly received by Mr. Xie Changrong, the director of International Programs Center of NYP, and Ms. Ma Yumei, the manager of International Programs of NYP. Upon arriving at the conference room, the teachers eagerly raised lots of questions with great enthusiasm, while Director Xie gave them an “unexpected” reply, “You will get all the answers after visiting NYP.” Being a bit confused, our visiting group, led by heads of different departments, visited over 600 laboratories in Mechatronics Engineering Department, Information Engineering Department, Business and Administration Department and Arts Department.

During the visit, Mr. Xie introduced the talent training mode, the further-education system for teachers, the curriculum design and students’ potential development in NYP. When the teachers were back to the conference room with satisfactory answers, Mr. Lin Jingdong, President of NYP, came to meet them and shook hands with everyone, which was followed by a souvenir exchange. 

After the visit tour in NYP, the group also learned the unique local customs in Singapore and Malaysia through the city tours.
